Pro Duffers Golf Club - Washington Chapter East

PRO DUFFERS Year in Review

2010 was a sensational year for our golf club. We continue to build camaraderie and friendship. We added ten new members to maintain a 66 man membership.

Once again, Chuck Shields, our tournament director, did an outstanding job in architecting and managing our golf events. We had an awesome golf season with friendly competition in team, medal, and match play events. The winners are featured above. At the National event at Doral, Jim Martin won low gross in the championship flight. Also, several other players were recognized for their performance at both the National and Spring Fling.

Most significantly, we launched our social action/mentoring initiative. Led by Bill Hall and John “Joe D” Saunders, we brought several high school and college level high potential golfers to our Memorial Tournament. We integrated them into our foursomes so they could benefit from our experience and perspective.

Next year, we are planning another great golf season, adding new members and most important we plan to expand our mentoring program.

Finally, thanks to all volunteers who have supported me in my first tear as chapter President. These are the members that enrich the club and make it fun and rewarding for all of the members.

Gensler's contribution is a result of the organization's cooperation and support of the scholarship charity golf event staged annually by the Pro-Duffers Golf Club of Washington ,D.C.
