Meeting called to order by Mr. Thomas Sweeney, President at 8:25 A.M.
A prayer was led by Mr. Leroy Harris, for the sick and shut in Pro Duffer members.
The agenda was distributed.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Correspondence: The Fifth Annual Parkland Bluitt-Flowers Health Center Golf Tournament will be held at the Cedar Crest Golf Course on November 10, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. The cost per person is $75.00 and $300.00 per team. This will be a Florida Scramble. Parkland Bluitt-Flowers is asking for the Pro Duffers
support, so get your team together and come on out and support the tournament.
Members Present: Vernon Bland, Jerome Caulk, Russ Cuffee, Dan Evans, Andy Flye, Richmond Gray, Calvin Harris, Leroy Harris, Ike Iglehart Sr., Laval Jackson, Harve “Big Daddy” King, Warren Lee, Joe Long, Harvey Lyons, Dan Mask, Eddie Mayberry, Roy McClaney, Hubert Threats, Malthus Northcutt, Carl
Robinson, Roy Rogers, Russell Satchell, Thomas Sweeney, Carl Williams, and Jerry Woodward.
Financial Report: Malthus Northcutt reported that the savings account balance is
$5,694.00. The checking account is $7,641.88 and the tournament balance is
$1,917.94
Handicaps: Andy Flye and Hubert Threats are looking at possible changes for next season, such as scores by the hole vs. nine holes.
Tournament Director: Roy McClaney /Roy Rogers presented a preliminary schedule at the meeting. The finalized schedule will be ready by the January 2002 meeting.
Texas State Amateur Golf Association: President, Dan Mask reported that the state tournament will be held at Garden Valley Golf Resort on July 11, 12, and 13th, 2002.
Foundation Report: Thomas Sweeney reported that the First Tee meeting would take place in St. Augustine, Florida on November 28th through December 4, 2001. Truman Thomas, Howard Aldridge, Thomas Sweeney and Joe Johnson will attend the meeting.
National Meeting: The National Meeting will be held November 28, 2001. Host sites for 2002 will be discussed at the meeting. Columbia Lakes is now first choice, but Pottsboro will be a possible site.
Benefit Golf Tournament: Jerry Woordward is looking at revising the plans to make the Benefit Tournament a more profitable event.
Old Business: No Old Business.
New Business: A committee will be assigned to call and to visit the sick and shut in.
New Members: Andy Flye reported that there would not be any new members until some financial responsibilities are worked for incoming new members.
