Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Thomas Sweeney, President at 7:03 P.M.
The agenda was distributed.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Correspondence: Bill Dickey’s 2nd Annual Invitational Junior Golf Championship will be held June 21, 22, and 23 2001 at the Disney’s Osprey Ridge and Eagle Pines Golf Courses, Lake Buena Vista
Florida. For more information contact: Joe Long or Truman Thomas.

Eric Cooper, Russ Cuffee, Robert Davis, Andy Flye, Richmond Gray, Gregory Harrell, Leroy Harris, Lloyd Iglehart III, Lloyd Iglehart Sr., Warren Lee, Joe Long, Eddie Mayberry, Roy McClaney, Ira Murray, John Nelson,
Malthus Northcutt, Roy Rogers, Shad Sias, Thomas Sweeney, Truman Thomas, Bill Turnley, Zack Walker, Carl Williams, and Jerry Woodard.
Financial Report: Mr. Northcutt presented a written finance report, the savings account balance as of February 28, 2001 is $7,558.12.
A motion was made by Mr. George Allen to accept the report and it was seconded by Mr. Eddie Mayberry. The motion was accepted.
Committee Reports: Handicaps- Mr. Andy Flye is awaiting all scores from the Fall Retreat to finalize the handicaps. All new members will be on an honor system until they start turning in scores.
Tournaments: Mr. Roy McClaney, Tournament Director and Mr. Roy Rogers presented the 2001 tournament schedule. The 2001 tournament schedule was approved.
Mr. Ike Iglehart Sr. made the teams for competition this year. There will be 7teams, four 8 men teams and three 9 men teams.
Benefit Tournament: Mr. Russ Cuffee, Chairman, reported a change to the host hotel for the 18th Benefit Golf Tournament to be held at Tour 18 on August 4 and 5, 2001. The new host hotel will be the Double Tree,
located at 7120 Dallas Parkway, Plano, Texas. A vote was taken and the new host hotel was accepted.
Junior Golf Foundation: Mr. Truman Thomas reported that there is a Chapter of the Junior Golf Foundation in Houston that now has its own golf course. They are inviting
5 to 7 kids from each chapter around the state to play at their course during Spring Break. Also some of the kids will be selected to go back to Kansas this year.
Mr. Thomas Sweeney, President announced that our Vice President, Mr. Joe Johnson’s employment will not allow him to continue his position. Mr. Sweeney appointed Mr. Jerry Woodard to assume the position for the
remainder of Joe Johnson’s term. A motion was made by Mr. Jerome Caulk and seconded by Mr. George Allen to accept the motion. Mr. Woodard’s appointment will become effective immediately.
Mr. Eric Cooper will be the new uniform chairman.
Notes: Mr. Harve, Big Daddy King’s wife will be having surgery on March 8th, so our prayers will be with Big Daddy’s family.
Junior Gold: Mr. Warren Lee reported that Danielle Mass, daughter of Dan Mass won 1st Place at Golden Valley Golf Club recently. She shot a 79 from the white tees. She is also the #1 golfer at R.L.
Turner High School. GO GIRL!!
Mr. Thomas Sweeney, President gave a tournament account balance of $2,091.50, which was accepted by vote.
Mr. Dan Evans' cook out to raise money for the chapter has been turned over to the Foundation.
Getting a bus to the Spring Fling has been nixed, so please get your own transportation.
New Business: Mr. Russ Cuffee is having a Golf Tournament at L.B. Houston for his daughter’s Human Development.
