General Meeting

Call to Order

Meeting called to Order at 7:06 p.m. by Chapter President – Jerry Woodard

Chapter Secretary Confirmation – it was voted and unanimously confirmed that Robert Roussell be elected as Chapter Secretary for the 2004-5 term

National President’s Report – Tom Sweeney

bulletNeed to register erly for the Spring Fling since it will accommodate only 128 players

Financial report –  Shad Sias

Shad reviewed the proposed budget for 2004…motion made and seconded that it be accepted…motion carried with 3 nays recorded

Parliamentarian – Eddie Mayberry

Eddie Mayberry asked membership present to complete 10 question quiz to facilitate discussion on parliamentarian procedures

Tournament Committee – Ike Sr.

bulletIke Sr., presented the 2004 tournament schedule…motion to accept the schedule was made, seconded and accepted.

2004 Benefit Tournament – Russ Cuffee

bulletChairman Cuffee reported that final payment of $27K from State Farm has been processed
bulletWe can raise approximately $50K if each Pro Duffer obtains $500 in sponsorship
bulletJunior Golf mission can help us sell the merits of being a sponsor
bulletWe can provide a team of salesmen to achieve the above
bulletMotion was made, seconded and passed that we have our benefit tournament at Doral for the next five years if we can add a performance clause to the contract

20th Anniversary Celebration – Dan Evans

bulletA good time was had by all even though we had approximately 30 no shows
bulletThe “theme” should carry more of an “awards” flavor in the future (ex. Most improved, hole in 1, community service, etc.)
bulletNeed a better “send off” for the outgoing officers to show appreciation for their hard work
bulletWives should be utilized more in planning and delivery of the event
bulletNeed a professional photographer to capture the moment
bulletBudget was found to be adequate

New Business

Jerome Caulk indicated the 2004 Retreat will be at the Bridlewood  Golf Course vs. East Texas

Remarks – Dan Mask

Dan gave a report on Danielle’s progress and she is doing GREAT…her first semester she received all “A’s” and one “B”!!
