I. Call to order
Truman Thomas called to order the regular meeting of the ProDuffers USA – Southwest Chapter at 7: 00 PM on February 26, 2005 at the Center for Community Cooperation, 2900 Live Oaks, Dallas TX 75204.
II. Roll call
Robert Roussell conducted a roll call. The following persons were present: (Dale Hogg, Joe Johnson, George Sparks, Tom Sweeney, Robert Roussell, Harvey Lyons, Joe Long, Ike Iglehart Sr., Neil Halliday, Michael Rideau, Larry Holbert, and Jerry Woodard, Clyde Henderson, Dan Mask, John Caldwell,)
III. Approval of minutes from last meeting
Robert Roussell: No minutes available from the March meeting.
IV. Correspondence
a) The 5th Annual Charley Taylor Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 9, 2006 @tangle Ridge Golf Club.
b) Dan Mask Provided an overview on this year Texas State Amateur Golf Tournament. It is the oldest Black Golf Tournament. Additional information will be provided to the body via email.
V. Open Issues
a) None.
VI. Reports
1. NATIONAL PRESIDENT (T. Sweeney): A discussion was held on setting the agenda for the national meeting. It will include: Bylaws/constitution update, address dues increase, web site enhancements, and national election: Would like to see Jerry Woodard elected as the National VP. Please refer to the national web site for a complete and continued updates. It was noted that the national tournament can only take 120 gofers and the national golf store will be available. Dallas is responsible for the 2009 National and Little Rock has the spring fling next year.
2. Tournament Committee (Joe Johnson): No report was presented. However, Joe pointed out that the speed of play was great. Note that some players did not finish. The next scheduled tournament is @ tangle Ridge Golf course on May 13, 2006. The members were reminded that they should be sending in their score cards after every round of golf. As for the Pro-Duffers tournaments, a rule sheet will be presented before the start of the tournament.
3. Rule Chairman (Ina Welby): No Report
4. Constitution and By-Laws (Dan Mask): A report was presented to the body. Only one version of the constitution and by-laws should exist for this chapter. Comments and feed-back was given back to the committee. The committee will continue to work on this process and provide the body with recommendation at a later date.
5. Membership Committee (Lorenzo Brown): No Report
6. Junior Golf (Jerome Caulk): No Report
7. Budget and Finance (George Sparks): Provided the members with financial report which included the statement of revenues and expenditures. A motion was made and passed that we accept the financial report as information only.
8. Social Committee (Larry Holbert): Contact Larry if you would like to be a part of this committee.
VII. Old Business
a.) Spring Fling Update (Jerry Woodard): An update on the Spring Fling and National was presented to the members of the organization. 108 golfers registered for this event. An overview of the weekend events was presented to the members
VIII. New Business
· A motion was made and passes to set aside $200.00 for hosting the 2006 Texas State Amateur Golf Tournament.
