Eagle Point Results

Thanks to everyone for your attendance at our Eagle Pointe Club Championship tournament. Although the course received 1” of rain overnight and we started off with a cart path only beginning for the first five holes, we finished the tournament with near perfect weather. A total of fourteen (14) Pro Duffers were in attendance. Congratulations to Elzie Thomas and Ralph Kelley for winning the Charlie Sifford and Lee Elder flights. This was the first victory of the season for both. The top 3 finishers for each flight were:

CHARLIE SIFFORD FLIGHT                       LEE ELDER FLIGHT

1st Place – Elzie Thomas                    1st Place – Ralph Kelley

2nd Place – Rick Flanagan                    2nd Place – Kerry Muldrow

3rd Place – Mike Evans                        3rd Place – Horace Colbert

CHARLIE SIFFORD FLIGHT

Elzie Thomas shot a net 1 under par 70 to capture his first victory of the season by 1 stroke over Rick Flanagan. Rick shot a net even par 71 to take second place honors. Mike Evans took third place with a net 3 over par 74. The Charlie Sifford flight is getting tighter, although Mac Galley continues to lead by 100 over 2nd place Reggie Thomas. Rick  has closed to within 25 points of Reggie, and Elzie’s victory has placed him within 25 points of 4th place Mike Evans. If the Tour Championship was held today, a win by any of the top 7 players could give them the flight season points championship.

LEE ELDER FLIGHT

Ralph Kelley shot a net even par 71 to capture his first victory of the season by 1 stroke over the winner of our previous tournament winner Kerry Muldrow. Kerry shot a net 1 over par 72 to take second place honors. Horace Colbert took third place with a net 3 over par 74. Mike Bell and Horace Colbert are now tied for the points championship lead, and lead by 50 points over third place Curtis Clay. Ralph’s victory has pulled him to within 50 points of Curtis. If the Tour Championship was held today, a win by any of the top 7 players could give them the flight season points championship.
